Upon students return from the Spring Break, on Monday, April 2, 2018, Palomar will be instituting a new bell schedule. Start and end times for the day will remain the same, with passing periods being lengthened and break times changing. Please review the new bell schedule here, to ensure your student is arriving to school on time for their first period.
Lunch will be served only once daily on the new schedule, so afternoon students will need to plan to arrive a little early during the lunch period prior to the start of sixth period.
The schedule for the Panther Pad and all campus clubs for the remainder of February can be found here.
Check the Scholarship Bulletin for information about several scholarship opportunities!
We wrap up Red Ribbon Spirit Week, in which we bring focus to the dangers of drug use and trafficking in our community, with a show of school spirit. Wear your Palomar Panthers gear and black and purple school colors!
Today we will be celebrating Dia de los Muertos campus wide. Wear something that reminds you of a loved one who has passed. You can learn more about the history of this tradition on the breaks as well as honoring them at our Palomar oferenda.
Wear a t-shirt or outfit that reflects your drug-free high activity of choice! What do you do that gives you a natural high? Do you skateboard? Cook? Run 5ks? Sing in a band? Showcase it on WEDNESDAY!
Make sure you find a partner today to plan your outfit for Monday, October 30, because it’s TWIN DAY!
Get wild, get creative, just make sure you’re twinning!
Next week is Red Ribbon Spirit Week! Each day will have a fun theme. Check the poster in the lunch area for details, and watch the posted announcements here!
We will kick it off a day early on FRIDAY, October 27, with Misfit Sock day.
October is National Anti-Bullying Month. The Misfit Sock movement asks people to celebrate what makes them different and take a stand against bullying by wearing misfit socks with purpose: to celebrate what makes us different. Many kids hide their differences for fear of being bullied. Taking a stand as a school community sends a strong message that DIFFERENCES MATTER.
As a nationwide movement, last year over a million people participated.
You can learn more about the movement on the Misfit Sock Movement website.

If you were absent or somehow missed taking your school photo earlier this year, picture retake day will be held on Wednesday, October 18th. Every student must get their picture taken and receive an updated school ID, even if you are not ordering pictures.
You still can order your personalized online yearbook!
For students planning to graduate and start college in the spring (January – February), Palomar is taking a field trip to take the community college assessment test on Tuesday morning, October 24th.
See Ms. Wu in room 4 for a permission slip and more information.
